Presidents Day Weekend – February 12-15

When: We meet at the church Friday Feb 12th at 7:00AM to finish loading the bus and depart by 7:30AM. We return to the church on Monday Feb 15th at around 4:30PM.

Where: Jelly Stone Campground, Mammoth Cave Area, Kentucky

What: We’ll be headed to Lincoln’s birthplace, boyhood home, and museum. Along with Mammoth Cave with over 400 miles of mapped cave, also holding the record for worlds largest cave. On the way down we’ll be stopping at General George Patton’s Museum of Leadership, where there will be tanks to see and much more. We’ll be tent camping at Jelly Stone Campground just 10 minutes away from Mammoth Cave. The campground features heated showers and flush toilets. Average temperatures for the area we will be staying at are high 40’s during the day, and low 30’s at night (Turkey Shoot weather!). We’ll take the large white tarp shelter and heaters like we did for Valley Forge in case the weather is colder than expected. Remember, we’ll be on the bus, or in a museum, or in Mammoth Cave for a good part of both Saturday and Sunday, all of which will be warm. So, join us and come along for the ride in a once in a lifetime event.

How Much: $67 to cover cost of campsite, admissions to Mammoth Cave, Museums, Gas and Food.
