Bring Your Used Athletic Shoes Tonight

Reminder! Please bring your old used athletic shoes (no cleats) to tonight’s Boy Scout meeting, Monday, 4/13/15. We will collect these by patrol and the the patrol with the most shoes gets a reward and honor patrol points. Just throw them in the box with your patrol name/logo on it when you come in. This is a great way to get geared up for Earth Day, which is April 22.

Wilderness First Aid – May 2 & 3

Troop 365,

Wilderness First Aid certification is now required for at least two members of any group (or crew) that is on a high adventure trip or any trip where we are more than a few hours from medical assistance. Any scout 14 and older and any adult scouter is eligible to become certified. This is one of the best classes you will ever take to prepare you for trips where we get away from it all (the ones that we love the most!)

We are holding a class and certification for our troop on May 2 and 3. It is a full day Saturday and Sunday (8AM to 4PM, you must attend both days) and the cost will be between $60 and $75 depending on the number of participants. This class will also include an update of your CPR certification (if you have current CPR then subtract $27 from the cost).

We need to get a count on how many people will be attending. Please go to Troop WebHost and sign up today. https://www.troopwebhost.org/ FormHTML.aspx?Menu_Item_ID= 92256

Quetico and Philmont crews need this certification, at least two people in each crew.

If you have questions email or call Mr. Aspery at 614-841-1846 or saspery@darifill.com.

Committee Chair Note

Perhaps you’ve already heard but April 1st will end my tenure as BSA Troop 365 Committee Chair. (I promised Jerry 2 years and almost made it to 3.) We’ve covered a lot of ground together and I appreciate all the hard work. Troop 365 is blessed with an abundance of Scouters providing support, energy and leadership. The boy led mantra continues through the committee and under the stewardship of Scoutmaster Jerry Roderick. Our new Committee Chair is John Heywood, Eagle Scout and grandfather of Tony S. John is very active in camping and planning and has been the ASM of Shark Patrol.

I look forward to continuing my association with Troop 365 as bus driver, future summer camp Scouter, etc. Thank you John for stepping forward. My most sincere thanks to Scoutmaster Roderick, the committee, ASM’s, parents and of course the Scouts.

Yours in Scouting,
Bill Alsnauer

Throwback Thursday

See if you can figure out who is pictured in this throwback Thursday picture. He’s holding a mouse found in the basement of the church during a scout meeting when he first joined the troop in September 1998.
